Vail Mountain wrapped up the season on Sunday, April 15, in classic style with a party at Mountain Top and pond skimming at Golden Peak.

16th Annual World Pond Skimming Championships did not disappoint! There were great crashes & amazing finishes across the pond. Saw a guy with a giant beer stein and a giant pretzel flotation device. Wonder Woman was there, and a Vail Policeman they called Officer Tight Pants and he made the finals. Good stuff. #pondskimming #sendit #vaillive

Today was closing day at @vailmtn and it is an annual tradition to wrap things by dressing in costume and skiing down a steep hill in an attempt to cross a freezing cold pond of water. For skiers, Breckenridge will remain open for another week, and Winter Park, Loveland and A-Basin will remain open into May.
