Ski a Mountain That Never Feels Crowded
Beaver Creek opened in 1980 and spans 2,082 acres and 167 trails, topping out at 11,440 feet. Terrain runs from the wide beginner pitches of McCoy Park to the Birds of Prey World Cup downhill.
Be at the Base at 3pm for Cookie Time
Every winter afternoon at 3pm, staff hand out warm chocolate chip cookies at the base of the Centennial and Haymeadow lifts. It is free, it has run since 1985, and it is the single most beloved thing about this resort.
Learn to Ski in McCoy Park
Opened for the 2021-22 season, McCoy Park is 250 acres and 17 trails of beginner and intermediate terrain in a bowl at the top of the mountain, served by the McCoy Park Express. Rare for a resort to put its easiest runs at altitude with the best views.
Skate the Plaza Rink
The Black Family Ice Rink sits in the middle of Beaver Creek Village and is open to the public from mid-November to mid-April. Skate rentals are available on site, and the rink is lit for evening sessions.
See a Show at the Vilar Performing Arts Center
A 530-seat theater built underground beneath the ice rink, open since 1998. The season runs year round and spans Broadway, comedy, bluegrass, classical and family programming, all at a scale where every seat is close.
Watch World Cup Racers on Birds of Prey
Each December the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup comes to Beaver Creek for downhill, super-G and giant slalom on the Birds of Prey course. General admission at the Red Tail finish stadium is free.
Ride a Snowcat to Dinner
Beaver Creek's on-mountain culinary cabins, Beano's Cabin, Allie's Cabin and Zach's Cabin, are reached by an enclosed snowcat in winter. Multi-course dinners in a log cabin with no road access, roughly 8 to 25 minutes up the mountain depending on the cabin.
Hike and Bike Above the Village in Summer
The Centennial Express runs through summer to Spruce Saddle at 10,200 feet, opening more than 110 miles of trail including roughly 50 miles of lift-served mountain biking. Wildflowers peak in July.
Spend a Summer Afternoon at Nottingham Lake
Ten minutes down the hill in Avon, Harry A. Nottingham Park has a roped swim beach open June through August, plus paddleboard and kayak rentals. On Wednesday evenings in summer the free AvonLIVE! concert series plays lakeside.
