What to Bring to Beaver Creek
Layers
The base village sits at 8,100 feet and the summit at 11,440. Temperatures swing hard between midday and evening, especially in the shoulder seasons. Pack a mid-layer you can stuff in a pack.
High-SPF Sunscreen
At 8,000+ feet the UV index is roughly double what it is at sea level. Bring SPF 50 or higher. Snow in January and open ridgelines in July both reflect more sun than most people expect.
A Reusable Water Bottle
Beaver Creek sits well above a mile high. Dehydration sets in faster than it does at home, and it makes altitude headaches worse. Start drinking extra water the day before you fly in.
Altitude Medication
The first day at altitude can be rough if you're coming from sea level. Ask your doctor about acetazolamide before you travel. Most guests feel fine by day two.
A Valid Driver's License
Beaver Creek Village is walkable and the free shuttle covers most of the resort. A car is useful if you want to explore the back valley, drive into Avon, or make the short trip to Vail.
The Right Gear for the Season
Winter: ski boots, helmet, and goggles. Summer: trail runners, a daypack, and a rain shell for afternoon thunderstorms. Beaver Creek Sports in the village rents gear if you'd rather not check a bag.

We had an excellent stay at the Sun Vail condos and would absolutely recommend this property. The location was ideal—an easy walk to Lionshead Village and a quick drive to Vail Village—making it very convenient for restaurants, shopping and activities throughout the area.
The condo was comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed to make it feel like home. It was a great place to relax and recharge after busy days exploring Vail and the surrounding area. The pool, hot tubs and sauna were especially enjoyable and provided the perfect break between hikes and other activities.
Overall, the property offered an excellent combination of location, comfort and amenities. We had a five-star experience and would happily stay here again.
