Vail Pass closed for 4 hours due to snowy conditions, powder day on the way!

The Vail Pass section of I-70 was closed for 4 hours on the evening Wednesday, March 28, due to snowy conditions on the pass.

And you know what that means – it's powdery in Blue Sky Basin.

Spring snowfall has brought Vail's base back up as well as the snow water equivalent and snowpack levels, which are now about about 65 percent of the 40-year-median.

Thursday conditions should be good to match the good snow Vail received over the course of the last week.
