Vail Jazz tradition continues this summer

May 29, 2018
Listen Now!

They call it the Vail Jazz party, and like a good jazz song, it includes a few good riffs.

The party dates back to 1995, when life-long jazz fan and Vail second home owner Howard Stone was inspired to put together a Labor Day Weekend Jazz Party in Vail. Stone’s vision was to carry on a 20 year Colorado tradition of presenting great jazz in the unique ‘party’ format over the Labor Day Weekend.
After the success of the first Vail Jazz Party, Vail Jazz grew into a summer-long concert series with educational programs and collaborations taking place throughout the warmer months.

Today, the summer festival spans over 12 weeks and entertains more than 50,000 people each year.
The 2018 Vail Jazz Party will feature 12 sessions of music with an exciting combination of mainstage performances, captivating jam sessions and rousing multimedia tributes to jazz legends.

The 2018 lineup is bigger and better than ever, with eight special shows that are sure to astound and inspire, and over 35 jazz heavyweights who will bring the best of classic and contemporary jazz to Vail this Labor Day weekend.
