Heavy snow is falling in Eagle County! If you have an upcoming ski trip planned, then get excited- there is now more terrain open for you to enjoy!
Big snowstorms this past week allowed Vail to finally open up more terrain. Three more runs (Berries, Pickeroon, and Lodgepole) and Wildwood Express lift have opened for guests to enjoy this season! There are now nearly 700 acres of terrain open to skiers. This terrain encompasses 44 runs and 8 lifts.
Friday morning, it was reported that 11 inches of powder piled up on Vail mountain. This allowed ecstatic skiers to get in their first powder turns of the season! Another 2-4 inches fell throughout the day, setting a solid base for weekend skiing.
Nearby Beaver Creek also received hefty snowfall and was able to open their first black diamond terrain of the season!
With the fresh snow and consistent low temperatures, resorts will be working hard to open more terrain. It shouldn't be long until even more runs are open! Snow storms are in the forecast for Tuesday through Wednesday, with the expectation of more storms through the weekend. I can't wait to see which runs Vail Resorts will open next!
Which run are you most excited to ski this season?
