5 Must do events in Vail during May

The ski lifts have stopped turning for the season and spring in the mountains has officially sprung, and there is still plenty to do around Vail. Below is a list of the 5 events to check out in Vail this spring.
Legacy Fight Alliance returns to Vail for a second year. The event is going to be on May 3 at the Dobson Arena and judging by the crowds it drew last year it is shaping to be one of the main entertainment happenings this off season. The main event of LFA 65 will feature a flyweight showdown between former LFA title challenger Brandon Royval and UFC veteran Joby Sanchez. The entire main card will be televised live and nationwide.
Vail Derby Party is on May 4th this year and as usual it is an event not to be missed. The best derby party in the valley will be hosted by the Four Seasons at the popular Remedy bar and besides an opportunity to show off your best hat it also gives you an opportunity to support early childhood education in Vail as the event is held as a fundraiser for Children's Garden of Learning in Vail.
Vail Whitewater Race Series is the official kick off to the whitewater season in the valley and it is set to start on Tuesday, May 7. The Bloch & Chapleau Vail Whitewater Race Series is a spectator-friendly event with kayak, two-person raft and stand-up paddleboard categories. Most races start at the Covered Bridge and end at International Bridge. Open to paddlers ages 16 and up with intermediate to expert abilities.
Vail Bike Swap — to get you excited and ready for the upcoming bike season, Ski and Snowboard Club Vail is presenting the inaugural Vail Bike Swap. The Swap is taking place on May 11 at Battle Mountain High School between 10 am and 5 pm. It is the biking version of the famous Vail Ski Swap giving you a great opportunity to buy or sell used or new bikes and bike accessories.
Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week — the spring version of the popular restaurant week will be held during two weeks between May 26 and June 2. With participating restaurants spanning across two neighboring mountain resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, this food celebration takes dining to new heights. The events will feature a wide variety of prix fixe menus and specials all starting at $20.19, showcasing the diverse culinary offerings available throughout the Vail and Beaver Creek Villages.
