Where to Go Stargazing in Vail

When staring up at the night sky, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by how vast the universe is. Cities with stunning natural areas (like Vail!) are some of the best places to stargaze because they offer viewing with less light pollution. Here, you'll see the full majesty of the night sky! Walking Mountain Science Center: This science center in Avon emphasizes exploration of the natural world and frequently features stargazing programs. 

Minturn: Nine minutes outside of Vail, you'll find the town of Minturn. They have high elevation and minimal light pollution. Park at a trailhead, where you can stargaze without hiking into the wilderness. 

Chamberlin Observatory: This observatory in Denver is a fantastic place to learn about and witness different features of the sky. Keep an eye out for the public viewing nights!

Of course, it is easy to find stargazing spots with low light pollution if you venture a little bit outside of Vail city limits. Find a park or trail in a low population, high elevation city for the best viewing!
