Two weeks left until the end of the ski season and the spirit in the mountains is very festive. Both Vail and Beaver Creek have schedules full with events happening on and off the slopes with something fun or everybody to enjoy. Check out these 10 popular spring events and make sure to pack as much parting in your closing weeks schedule as possible.
March 26-April 6, Sol y Ski This new festival is a celebration of Vail's international guests and the the multi-generational bound the resort has with its Mexican friends. If you haven't had the chance to participate in any of the festivities you have another week as Sol y Ski runs through April 8th. This week offers a great variety of events such as shopping cocktail parties, spa specials, ice skating, s'mores roasting and much more. See the full schedule here.
March 11-April 6, SpringFest The super fun SpringFest wraps up this Friday, so make sure to check the schedule and take advantage of this family oriented spring break festival. Disco skate night, family kickball game and exciting activities for children of all ages are among the events happening this week, so take the whole family out in town and enjoy the amazing weather.
April 4-8, Taste of Vail During the four days of this event you will have the opportunity to taste amazing food prepared by Vail's most famous chiefs and learn and sample wines from around the world. The most popular events during the festival are the Colorado Lamb Cook Off, the mountaintop picnic and the annual Grand Tasting, but the many seminars and the specials at the participating restaurants are also worth checking. April 5-8, Vail Film Festival The 15th Annual Vail Film Festival will take place Thursday, April 5 to Sunday, April 8. It is an event that offers guests and residents of the Vail Valley the incredible opportunity to mingle with celebrities, network with film professionals and enjoy the art of film. The festival will celebrate women in film, featuring the Women in Film Panel Discussion and shining the light to the work women have accomplished in the film industry.
April 5, 70's Glam Jam The Lindsey Vonn Foundation is having its largest fundraising event of the year at the Four Seasons Resort this Thursday. Break out your most fabulous 70's outfit(glitter and spandex highly encouraged) and be prepared for a fun evening with Lindsey. The event will host a mobile silent auction with one-of-a-kind memorabilia, exclusive destination vacations, art and much more. All proceeds from the event will go to Lindsey Vonn Foundation and its mission to strengthen the community by supporting girls through scholarships, education and athletics.
April 7, Warren Miller Legacy Celebration Warren Miller's family together with Vail Mountain are having a commemorative Ski Down Vail Mountain from the top of Mountain Top Express Lift to Mid-Vail. A celebration at Sarge's at Mid-Vail will follow the Ski Down with speakers from Warren Miller Films and live music. Special Apres-ski Warren Miller film parties will be held at Bridge Street Bar, Pepi's, Vendetta's, Tavern on the Square, Chop House(both Vail and Beaver Creek), Coyote Cafe(Beaver Creek). Everybody is invited to join in and celebrate a life dedicated to the love of the mountains.
April 8, American Jukebox Skate Night Enjoy the music of the decades as you and your family dance and skate around the ice rink to tunes from the '50s, '60s, 70's, 80's and beyond. Join in the fun at the ice skating rink in Beaver Creek Village.
April 11, 2018 Winter Jazz Series The 2018 Vail Jazz Winter Series features an exciting selection of intimate performances. Ludwig's Terrace in the Sonnenalp Hotel is transformed into an elegant alpine jazz club for an evening of stunning entertainment and spectacular dining. The event features two 75-minute seatings of music, and full dinner service with favorites from the Bully Ranch menu, a selection of fine wine, and signature cocktails. The April 11 concert is a tribute to Ray Charles feat. Joe McBride Trio.
April 7-15, Spring Back to Vail One of the best spring festivals in the mountains is getting even better with this year's addition of Music with a View concerts. This event is presented by Verizon and it is taking place at Sarge’s at Mid-Vail on April 7 and 14 from12pm to 2pm. Also new this spring are the Saturday music series at Express Lift Bar sponsored by Bud Light.
April 15, World Pond Skimming Championships This event needs no introduction and as usual is guaranteed to bring the crowds and lift the moods. The World Pond Skimming Championships is open to anyone and everyone that believes they can make it across the pond, the top female and male finishers will receive an Epic pass for the next ski season. The venue opens at noon with BBQ and Vail Expo Village, Bud Light bags tournament begins at 1pm and the Pond Skimming is scheduled for 3pm.
