A 5-time Olympian and former member of the Swedish National Ski Team, Edwards resident Patrik Jarbyn is best known for being the oldest person ever to hit the podium in a World Cup ski race, which he did in 2008 at age 39, finishing third in the super-G in Val Gardena, Italy. Jarbyn also took third in the downhill at the 2007 World Championships, at age 37 and is also the oldest person ever to medal at a World Championships ski race.

But one of Jarbyn's most unique distinctions is he is

the reigning champion at the Ski & Golf World Championship, which takes place in Austria every spring and combines a run of giant slalom on the Kitzsteinhorn Gletscher with two rounds of golf at the Schmittenhohe and Kitzsteinhorn courses. Jarbyn won the event in 2015 and will look to defend his title in 2016.

And if that isn't impressive enough, Jarbyn is also known for his prowess in yet another sport, bowling. During the 2009 World Cup Finals in Are, Sweden, Swedish athletes challenged a group of Swedish media to a bowling match and Jaerbyn scored the highest of the group with a 188.

Jaerbyn is married Randi Borgen, herself a multi-sport athlete and graduate of Middlebury College. They are raising two sons from their home in Edwards.
