The red serpent of a torchlight ski parade is something you have to see with the naked eye to truly appreciate. And on December 31, you'll have your chance. Vail Mountain will be aglow as Vail ski instructors and locals from the community descend down Golden Peak with glowing sticks in Vail’s annual Torchlight Parade. The glowing ski parade will be followed by a fireworks display signaling the start of 2016.

Over in Beaver Creek on New Year's Eve, you can do more than just witness the torchlight ski down, you can take place in it! The ski down is open to all intermediate and above level skiers and riders. Registration will be at 5 p.m. at Children's Ski & Snowboard School, at 5:30 you'll load the Buckaroo Gondola, and the Torchlight Parade & Ski Down will start at 6 p.m. with fireworks to follow at 6:45.

Beaver Creek will then host a New Year’s Eve Family Bash, which has been voted among the Travel Channel’s top 10 family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations. At 8 p.m. the New Year’s Eve Family Bash gets underway with a DJ, games, dancing, prize drawings and two balloon drops. Tickets are on sale now at www.beavercreek.com/newyearseve. The event sells out, so purchase tickets early!
