vonn_public_fileOlympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn has taken great strides in her life to make Vail her home.

After finding success first as a Ski & Snowboard Club Vail athlete and then on the World Cup, she has had great support from Vail Resorts along the way, a company that has shown dedication to the sport of ski racing. But make no mistake, any resort in the nation would be happy to partner with the alpine star. In 2015, Vonn became the winningest female World Cup ski racer of all time, overtaking the record of 62 wins set by Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proll in 1980.

Vonn moved to Vail first as a child with her family, who took a risk in uprooting from Minnesota when the young talent started showing promise in more serious racing. The risk paid off, and Vonn rose to become the biggest sensation women's ski racing has ever seen in the U.S. She lived in various places provided to her by Vail Resorts for years before purchasing a home in East Vail and settling down with her dog, Leo. If you visit, you just might see the two of them out hiking or biking. Vonn also enjoys fly fishing, and going undercover as a Vail Mountain Safety officer.
