If you want to get out in nature and enjoy the last of the season's snowfall but you want to try something other than skiing, Vail has you covered! The Nature Discovery Center atop the Eagle Bahn Gondola is offering free (yes, FREE!) guided snowshoe tours each week!
Hour-long tours will run Thursday through Saturday of each week at 12:30 AM and 2 PM. Led by a naturalist, these tours will introduce you to a whole new side of Vail. You'll be able to soak in gorgeous mountaintop views, learn about the environment, and explore Colorado's breathtaking wilderness. For maximum comfort, it is recommended that tour participants wear snow pants, warm hats, gloves, sunglasses/ski goggles, and sturdy boots. The tour takes place at 10,000 feet elevation, so it will be chilly! Face masks are required for tours.
These tours are intended for ages 10+ only, but if you're traveling with younger children, then you can still have fun taking a tour! Free winter walks offer a gentler, equally educational excursion that is suitable for all ages.
